A unique bridal boutique set up in South Philadelphia. Specializing in off the rack discounted and discontinued bridal gowns. The boutique also showcases local Philadelphia fashion designers and does a thriving business in bridal accessories and vintage jewelry collections.
Project Details —
The client requested a redesign to an existing site. The original site was created years earlier with WordPress 2.0. After its initial launch the site was never updated and settings to manually hold comments were never set. The result was a site in poor condition and flagged by the search engines. The project required wiping everything down to the databases and making fresh installs, adding an SSL and adding security before the project could begin.
The new focus of the site was to be on the dresses, the brides and social integration. The client also wanted the site to have a catalog feel. A stylized menu was added that offered tailored dropdown tabbed areas. The landing page has an active grid with focused hover effects that guide the audience. Specific services and features were made more of a focus on the new site and layouts were created for displaying the large amount of photographs.

The brand colors of violet and purple with stylized use of scripts decorate every page and reflect the physical boutique. Each page starts with a full screen image, a large script title and a scroll down button. The boutique pages have a beautiful left hand navigation and gallery of images that open on click. The ‘happy brides’ is multifunctional with lightbox, social sharing and details about the dress. Wedding photos are a lazy load gallery of staggered images sent in on the day of the wedding by brides in their gowns.
Additional Notes On Project —
After the site was cleared by the search engines the response was immediate. The numbers in web and social traffic jumped, This was not a spike as the numbers held and the sites ranking made a radical jump. The site owner maintains a high social presence and follow through from the site to her social network, making daily updates.
